Quest Apartments adds strength to regional hub

Albury Wodonga is often utilised as a major hub for regional travel and business, so the opening of leading serviced apartment provider Quest Albury could not have come soon enough.

The purpose designed Quest Albury serviced apartments boasts 104 studio, one, two and three-bedroom fully equipped serviced apartments. It also has a conference room and meeting room facilities, car parking, onsite gymnasium, alfresco barbecue area and three onsite retail tenancies.

Importantly, Quest Albury was built within walking distance or close proximity to business centres, restaurants, entertainment and shopping.

Franchise Manager Noel Wood believes the property was a much needed addition to the Albury accommodation and business landscape.

“From what I’ve been told, we’re the first motel/accommodation venue to be built in the CBD for 22 years, and we proudly boast that we are the only four-and-a-half star in Albury’s city centre,” he said.

Mr Wood has been overwhelmed by the support of local council and business organisations.

“Albury City got very much behind it, and once you get support from Albury City, you also get it from businesses and the general public as well, so our introduction to Albury has been great,” he said.

Mr Wood has been busy forming partnerships with business, being active in the local community and assisting local charities. Quest Albury is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and has recently signed up as major partners of Murray Now.

While some entrepreneurs may be hesitant about establishing a new business given economic uncertainty, Mr Wood believes Albury will experience a growth in conferences, meetings and accommodation over the next few years.

“I think regional Australia is going to do very well, and Albury in particular given its location between Melbourne and Sydney,” Mr Wood said.

“We have already started to see an increase in the number company sales representatives travelling from city offices to visit regional clients in face to face meetings. I think this is the result of the tough times we have been experiencing and the need to do business on a more personal level. This fits in well for us because we’ve got the four-and-a-half-star serviced apartments and facilities that cater for small and large conferences.

Mr Wood is hopeful Albury Wodonga based companies and businesses will also play a role in generating more visitors to the region. “It is important that local businesses encourage head office or parent companies to consider holding conferences and meetings outside capital cities. They now have another option in the Albury CBD that offers conference and meeting facilities, as well as serviced apartment style accommodation,” he said.

Depending on the preferred lay-out, the Fallon conference room can hold between 45 and 80 guests, while the Kiewa meeting room can hold between 20 and 40 delegates. Quest also prides itself on providing home-away-from-home living for corporate and leisure travellers alike.
