Loddon-Murray Region.

The Gannawarra Shire is located in the Loddon Murray region of Victoria, Australia, a 3 hour drive from Melbourne. Major regional centres of Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill are around one hour by road. Towns of Gannawarra include Cohuna, Koondrook, Kerang, Murrabit, Lalbert, Quambatook and Leitchville.

Climate

Council has developed fully serviced industrial estates in Cohuna and Kerang that cater for a huge range of industries. Both of these estates offer fully serviced allotments from just $39,750!

Manufacturing

Manufacturing is a major growth area and employer within the Gannawarra Shire. Much of the manufacturing sector is linked to agriculture and involves processing and value adding of raw products, and manufacturing of equipment to support the agricultural industry.

Health & Education

The Gannawarra Shire has a great range of health and educational services. Extensive hospital, medical, dental, and aged care facilities are available in Kerang and Cohuna together with nursing homes and retirement centres. Educational facilities consist of pre-school, primary and secondary colleges as well as adult and further educational facilities.

Agriculture

Gannawarra Shire has a very diverse agricultural sector generating around $205m of produce annually. Council is committed to assisting and promoting further growth and diversity within all agricultural sectors and is highly proactive in sourcing new developments and working with landowners.

Irrigation

The Torrumbarry Irrigation system provides quality rural water supplies for agriculture. New stone fruit, wine grape, walnut and tomato developments compliment the backbone of irrigation which is dairy, lucerne, hay, livestock and cropping.

Housing & Accommodation

Average housing prices in Gannawarra Shire are far below that of larger cities and towns. New land is being developed in Kerang, Cohuna and Koondrook to cater for residential demand.

Infrastructure & Transport

Gannawarra has significant infrastructure advantages including excellent power supply from a recent sub station upgrade, world class potable water supplies and access to two main highways, making the Shire an ideal business location. Road, rail and air transport services are also available right across the Shire.
